The Civil Registration Office reports that 11 percent of the marriages registered in recent years involve a husband who is one or more years younger than his wife. The average age at marriage is now 27.4 for men and 22.1 for women. This is on the low side—especially for women—when compared with the rest of the world. In the US, the ages are 28.9 and 26.9. In Canada, they are 31.1 and 29.1.
