Farhad Tajari, says, “US sanctions against eight Iranian officials are childish.… The sanctions are the result of the failure of US policies against Iran.”
This is the third type of response to the new sanctions that were imposed for the first time by the United States as an expression of opposition to Iranian human rights violations.
The first reaction was to laugh at the sanctions because they bar visas to and freeze the US banks accounts of men who weren’t likely ever to visit the United States or own property there. The second reaction was to complain that the Americans were acting viciously by imposing new sanctions on Iranians. Now, the third reaction is to say they are a childish response to US failure.
In an interview with the Mehr news agency, Tajari said: “This kind of behavior by the USA shows the highest level of American imperialism’s despair. They have already used the power of all their organizations, and, today, they try to use a tool that is for the progress of human community. They sanctioned and decreased the efficiency of these tools in the world.”
He said America does not have any logic to use in dealing with Iran. “They have nothing to say in military, diplomatic or international dialogues. They are desperate, so they are trying childish and complex games.”
Tajari, the deputy from Qasr-e Shirin, said: “This kind of behavior by the USA shows the failure of their policies.”
Answering a question on how Iran should respond to the new sanctions, he said: “We should be silent against foolish people. Such behavior by the USA will have no external effect and it will have no particular effect on Iran.”
