3rd doctor shot by motorcyclist in Tehran

torcycle assailant, although in this case the doctor survived the attack.

Two doctors were shot on two successive days in September as they were leaving their offices.  Police said those murders were not connected.  Two men have been arrested in the murder of Dr. Gholam-Reza Sarabi, reportedly in a dispute over a medical case in which a relative of the arrested men died.  No arrests have been reported in the murder of the other doctor in September.

In the latest shooting, an unnamed physician and a companion were driving in west Tehran when a motorcycle pulled alongside and shots were fired into the car, injuring both the doctor and his companion.

Police said they have arrested two people.  The state news agency said the two who were injured were involved in some financial disputes over their housing construction projects, but it did not say if the arrested shooters were part of any of those disputes.
