Gen. Nasser Arasteh, a military adviser on the staff of the Supreme Leader, says the military might of Iran and the “prudence” of the Supreme Leader have prevented at least 11 wars against Iran from breaking out. He didn’t say whom those wars would have been with. But he said, as many in the Iranian government do, “If we were a weak nation, the United States wouldn’t hesitate to attack Iran.” He also said that in the event of a war, the aggressors would not be the ones choosing the time, place and type of warfare—which sounded like a threat to attack first.
